ok nausea, protonix? what the heck can I eat???

Another lovely day in the neighborhood....my stepdaughter recommended protonix? anyone here have good luck with that? Had weird heart palpitations on prilosec although did ok on it years ago. Should I ask my doc for this?

And....she told me yogurt is probably making my nausea worse....now I have no idea what to eat???
so far, can eat raisin bran and feel ok, power bars, wheat thins, sometimes saltines, and, I had thought, yogurt. But she said the dairy was a bad idea?? any suggestions?

Also recommended I go to the health food store to get a digestive enzyme thing called PB-8...Sounds like a good idea but wondering what anyone else's experience might be???

Have been on the "GERD" diet now for more or less ten years, although not always compliant (was drinking sodas, had caffeine).

My doc at the moment is unavailable as he is waiting for the results (biopsies) of the EGD to come back and said I could "eat whatever I wanted", general a "reflux diet".

The reflux sx have not been that bad. But the nausea has been awful. And the "reflux diet" does not seem to apply at the moment, although of course, as you said, hard to know at the moment. Food that I had been tolerating just fine are now not fine at all, i.e., rice, game meat, salads (wo tomatoes), cheese, eggs,no veggies, bread for sure...and of course no fats at all, no oils no mayo no foods with fat in them (cake), no fish (had eaten tuna but not anymore).

I had found that the yogurt was pretty helpful and I felt better when I ate it. But it was suggested that dairy was likely making my nausea worse...

So, until I get another appt with my doc, which I guess is still a week or two away, I was wondering what to eat, and if anyone else had tried PB-8? or protonix? Those were suggested to me and as I am unfamiliar I thought I'd just ask.

I do live in a very remote area (Montana) so not like we have tons of resources that an urban area might. Connecting with others even this way has been very helpful.

I felt like munching on the computer after my surgery. That diet was tough!

well, i am now on a very restricted diet but for past few weeks no sx so am very pleased.
not doing digestive enzymes as it does not seem related to my problems at this moment, may do in the future.
i found the very simple diet, no food, or very little, crackers, after 7, really helps
am not doing any exploring or changing as I am happy with a reduction in sx
and yes, eat a ton of yogurt; i like it and i get no sx that i know of
of course, the frustrating thing is that i do not get sx right away, it may take awhile then i have to backtrack and figure out what i may have eaten. so i am not varying anything at the moment

Yes I know what you mean about the backtracking it's hard work! I'm feeling a lot better since I've had my gallbladder out. Just have a few minor nausea and indigestion symptoms when I overdo the fats and sugary foods.
