Tif surgery and Gallbladder removal; bile in stomach causing nauseous stomach

Yesterday, I had a  repeat Bravo 48 hr test and my 3rd scope.  The doctor saw bile in my stomach and now he thinks its the cause of my constant nauseaous stomach.He said I should be on Zofran every 6 hrs.  The only way to fix it is to re-rout my intestines which he said is Major, major , major surgery that I don't do.  Now what ?

I am starting to feelo like a science experiment.

This has been going on  for 3 years it started with gallstones and a diseased gallbladder. So I had it removed on Jan 2009.  Still didn't feel better.  After more tests found I have bad GERD.  So I had the TIF surgery on May 10 2010.  The Gerd seems

to be improving but I'm still nauseous.   After I get my results from my Bravo test we'l know for sure if the GERD has imporved.

Can anyone help or has had problems with bile after the removal of Gallbladder?

The gallbladder used to store the bile now its in my stomach makin me sick.  Yuck..

Personally I'd go for the surgery to reconstruct ducts. It's hell being nauseous all the time. I'm so sorry this happened to you that sucks!

I had bouts of inexpicable nausea for years. Motilium is the only thing that has stopped it. Have you tried it?

It is not FDA approved so it has to be ordered from Canada or another foreign country.

If you've got bile in your stomach and it is causing reflux symptoms (as it does unknowingly for many of us I'm sure) it's important to stop the flow of it since it is somewhat more damaging to the esophagus than stomach acid.

My Dr. called in a script for motilium.  Do you think its safe to take?  What were the sideeffects for you?  Did you or are you taking Zofran?

Why isn't it FDA approved?

Hi Gerd 1,

I had my gallbladder removed 5 years ago, and have had nothing but issues ever since.

I cant digest wheat/gluten and now I have bile reflux/gerd from it.  The pyloric valve can be damaged during the surgery causing the bile reflux.

There are alot of people out there (I am finding out about) that have this same issue.  Taking out the gall bladder can cause much more serious issues (like these) and I try to tell people to think long and hard before having this surgery (like make sure you really need it out) as it can change your life forever.

I am so sorry about all that you are going through.  I hope you start feeling better.
