breathing problem, GERD?

Can GERD caused difficulty breathing all day?
Ive been searching for the cause of my breathing problem for years. Did chest x-ray when i want to try hyperbaric oxygen therapy and the doctor said my lung seems fine, but during my hyperbaric oxygen therapy i feel very breathless and it was a really bad experience, but the other people felt ok. I've gone to cardiologist but he said its not my heart and sent me to a gastroenterologis. I went to the gastroenterologis and the doctor just gave me drugs. Anyway, im not really sure if my gastro problem that bad. I often feel lots of gas in my stomach and heart racing after meal. (but when my breathing problem doesnt occur, lots of times i didnt feel difficulty breathing when having lots of gas in my stomach) My question was, can GERD caused difficulty breathing all day? (This usually happens when i dont get good quality of sleep but a couple of times happens for unknown reason) And what i mean by all day is, as in, from when i was sleeping untill waking up then untill go back to sleep again and try to sleep and it happens even when not after eating meal. My breathing problem feels worse when i was in a relax position (even sitting and try to relax) so when i move around it get better a little while but when i try to relax again like when i was trying to sleep it got worse, could it be muscle problem maybe? I do have sleep apnea but they happens randomly and not often. But sleep apnea only occurs when sleeping not when im awake. Anyway, i know i should go to a doctor to get this checked but i feel kind of lost since i already went to cardiologist, gastroenterologis, and get chest x-ray, i dont know what test should i get to find the cause. So, i was hoping if anyone could give me some input or maybe knows some information that could help me or maybe experience it too or similiar or knows someone who experience it, let me know cause i will truly appreciate it, please help, thanks.

Do you sleep with a CPAP?
If you have sleep apnea this is a constant thing not a once and awhile thing.
You need to sleep with the machine all the time. Otherwise it puts stress on your heart.

no i dont sleep with it because my sleep apnea appears randomly and not often, i hope they dissapeared and wont come back. Ive been to a sleep lab once but they didnt detect it. I did the sleep lab because of my insomnia but it still hasnt been cured, the doctor just gave me sleeping pills.

yes i also heard that a lot that GERD related to heart racing and breathing problem, but i guess my heart problem not only because of GERD but it worsened it. And also about my breathing, i dont know if its only GERD or theres another cause too.

Anyway, about the health anxiety and information conflicting, i do search on the internet sometimes to find information and i did find something conflicting so i thought i post a question, perhaps someone knows and can give me some input. And yes i do know i have to monitor myself and i do have other things to do. Thanks for the advice though. :)

Hi there,  your symptoms sound very similar to my own.

Difficulty breathing all day..

The only health problems found have been  stomach ulcerations.

So far the doctors have all been no help at all. This is the one time in my life i've needed

these people to know what they are doing and they have failed.

At least in this area of study..

Sorry to hear it, i kind of feel the same way. Although hopefully we'll get a way to beat this problem. :)

so if my breathing problem caused by GERD the ENT will notice it? Bu if its okay it means that its not because of GERD?

KisekiShiawase. yes, the ENT will be able to tell immediately if your vocal cords are damaged and eroded.  They will numb your throat and put a small camera in the back to look at the vocal cords.  You'll make humming noises at different pitches to see how your cords open and close.  Also they can see erosion on the edges of your cords.  The cure is unbelievably simple.  about 6 sessions with a speech therapist will get you breathing normally again.  However, if you still have the reflux it will come back.  You just need to keep up with the exercises.

I just have a sneaking suspision that's what it is.  It's the last thing that's thought of and I had to go to a big city teaching hospital with a top pulmonologist to suspect it.

One more idea would be a nasal problem, but I have no information on that.

KisekiShiawase:  Yes, they do numb your throat.  Not because it's painful at all, but to get rid of your gag reflex.  It just goes in the back of your throat, not down. :)
