So I have been feeling pretty good lately and I took myself off of zegerid and zantac. Well, it wasn't even a week later that my sinuses were a mess, my ear pain came back along with eye pain and some facial swelling. I took a zantac and guess what? All of those issues disappeared almost immediately. I was all ready to start on antibiotics but I don't need to now. It is so ironic to me how these two things are related. Anyone else have these issues?

I have read of people having throat pain and ear pain from GERD but the eye pain I have not heard of before. Sounds like your medications were helping you so I would suggest you keep taking them along with your physician's instructions.
Take care,
Kitt

I have found that some meds have a side effect when you come off them have you tried comming off slowly? eg reducing you meds.

Unfortunately the answer is no, I don't usually come off of the meds gradually but instead I just stop taking them. I only take one a day so I figured I would be fine. The burn and reflux came back though along with the weird sinus issues. Who would ever think that GERD could mess up ones wholes system so bad??

I suffered from chronic sinus pain & pressure for over 20 yrs--finally saw an ENT who prescribed
Ranitidine (zantac) and it has cured all the problems---I finally feel normal ---
