hi everyone! i'm new here (and to forums in general). i'm hoping that someone (or many people) might be able to help me by giving an outside opinion. i try to be a very happy and optimistic person (it's much easier on the better days), however my gerd symptoms have made that a little harder in the past few years.
i have been dealing with digestive issues since i was about 6 or 7. my symptoms have gotten so bad that i have landed in the ER 5 times in the past 16 months. up until i was pregnant with my daughter i lived by chewing tums and taking meds when i could afford them and mostly just "sucking it up" i'm sure everyone here knows just how quickly medications add up. when i was pergnant my ob/gym refered me to my GI.
i have have 2 scopes now and both times the dr told me the same thing. you have ulcers. you have a very "angry" stomach. lets try this med or that med. i do. i follow the directions to the extreme. and nothing has gotten any better.
and so i keep taking my meds. i currently take 6 to 7 different medications every day. i take nexium in the morning. i take zantac at lunch and 1/2 hour before bed. i take prilosec before dinner. i take zofran or phenergan for nausea. i use the GI cocktail 3 to 4 times per day. i take hyoscyamine (probably the wrong spelling) because my stomach gets so upset that it will go into overdrive.
i am to the point where i would try just about anything to feel better!
if anyone has any ideas they are absolutely welcome! i really am willing to try just about anything!
