Is there any one out there who has had EsophoX procedure done?  I suffer from LPR and have met with three top surgeons who perform this in Manhattan.  Just would like to speak to an actual person who has under gone this procedure as Im going to have it.  Thank you

Mitsie has had it and it failed for her.
I was going to have it for my LPR and the surgeon said he didn't want to do it on me. My HH was too wide and I have a swallowing issue.

Who is Mitsie and how can I speak with her? My doctor said I am an excellent candidate for it. I would like to ask Mitsie who did her surgery and why it failed.

I think Iread they're not doing that procedure in Pittsburgh any more because of the high rate of failures.

I had this procedure done on April 9, 2010.    4 days later I was having reflux again.    I never quit taking my pills for acid reflux.

I had the Lap Nissen fundoplication done on 10/20/2010 my surgeon said the stitches were just hanging there.

He had studied both procedures and is not doing the esophyx surgery anymore because of too many problems with the surgery.

i just had the tif procedure done and the verdict is still out on me. i had it on 12/20/2010 and when going from liquids to soft foods i am having horrible chest pains.

Wow. Glad I am hearing all of this. This is for couchtater - Update. Just wanted to thank you so much. I had the Bravo done and while the endoscopy was being done my new gastro doctor found two inlet patches of gastric metaplasia. This is actually good news. He thinks this may be what has been causing my LPR symptoms. He did multiple biopsies and this will help to make a conclusion on what is next.
If you didn't suggest the Bravo I most likely may not have had him do an endoscopy for a long time. Let's keep our fingers crossed that this may answer a lot of questions. I have to thank God for finding such a great doctor.

I looked it up and it seems to be something similar to Barrett's.
This might explain several of your issues.

Yes. It seems the inlet patches are stomach tissue that end up in the esophagus. I just learned that they form during development of embryo. Very interesting stuff. He took tons of biopsies and he also says in report no erosions or Barret's. I am wondering if these patches can be surgically removed. I wonder if anyone else who has LPR has any of these patches as well.
I was reading all the comments on the TIF. Thank God I didn't go through with that and found this web site first. I will keep everyone posted as to the findings. If anyone out there has had an endoscopy and it showed these inlet patches, I would love to hear what your doctor had to say.
