My allergist said GERD is what makes the asthma kick in but I honestly don't completely believe that. I had the wrap done Sept 7 and it took awhile but went from taking Pantoprazole, Tums, all kinds of other liquid medication to only taking 1/2 tablet of Pantoprazole and no acid reflux at all. Only a stomach ache once in awhile if I ate like pizza or something that was too acidic. November, December and January are the absolute worse allergy months for me and I took nearly 2 weeks off at Christmas. Our house is old and I'm super allergic to Alternaria a form of mold. Being at home with the house all closed up and with a blizzard and super colds temps, we haven't been able to have the windows open and the furnace running constantly. My asthma kicked in and even started using my Ventolin again. Now I'm having trouble controlling my acid reflux even though I've gone back to the acid reflux diet - water, very bland foods, no caffeine etc. It's very depressing! I wasn't having any problems at all with the acid reflux until I was exposed to the mold again and now I'm back in the same boat. Anyone else having the same problems in winter????
