I need referrals to switch docs and I already did all my tests with him so I'm stuck with him for now, just that I have to let him know I'm calling the shots, I will call his office again Monday and request the 2x a day Rx.  If I try to go otc I will only get 20mg and pay a lot for it at drug store and at this point I'm thinking go straight for 2x 40mg and get insurance approval.  I'm also looking into something else I just found out about today that Dr. G never mentioned to me.  It sounds waaaay better than the surgeries so I'm praying this could be applicable to me so actually maybe I will switch to one of the doctors offering this, they might still want me to do the 4 months course of meds first, but I just didn't even feel I'm in good enough physical health to go thru with esophyx and the grueling diet restrictions, I'm hypoglycemic, I need to eat all the time, I'm very thin and any weight loss would make me underweight, I have ehlers danlos and chronic pain and load of anxiety and don't handle stress well so I think the restrictions of esophyx might have been too sterssful for me so I'm glad I started doing some searching on my own to see what other options might be out there.

But funny thing is they were like oh you're a whole hour late for your appt, but like from experience I know he keeps you waiting an hour or longer if you come on time (making patient wait an hour they are just fine with that, but to me is like if you're gonna make me wait an hour, I'll just come an hour later than what you tell me) so I was like screw that, I'm not rushing out of work to sit there for 2 hours so I still ended up waiting there at least half hour after coming an hour late, who knows, maybe he took someone ahead of me, fine. The other funny thing was they called me to see if I was coming and said call them back, but like when I go to call them back, the message comes on that it is past office hours so when I got there I was like well how was I supposed call you back if you don't pick up the phone!??!!! And she said nothing.

Thinking perhaps you need to search for a different physician if this Dr. is not meeting your expectations.  Have you tried talking with anyone in your area that has had the procedure.

Fact finding is always the best way before agreeing to any surgery.

The docs I see in the 'burgh do an awful lot of re-dos for those other procedures. You can't have it anyway if you have a hiatal hernia that needs repair or a wide open LES.

I'd be happy if I only had to wait an hour! My docs keep me waiting 3 hours, always. I understand that they're terribly overworked seeing 40 patients in a half day, and sometimes they run into an emergency or don't get out of the OR on time. Still, 3 hours is torture with my terrible spine and slipping ribs. But if I get there late I will still be seen in the order in which I arrived, so there's nothing for it. I'd see someone else, but they're the best!
