Meeting with Surgeon for Nissen

Hi,
Had to say I had a great meeting this afternoon with a Surgeon that really put my mind at ease. The second thing that also put me at ease is that my co-workers best friend recommended this surgeon b/c he did his wrap. Which was very successful. Probably the most encouraging thing I heard from him was when I asked how many Nissen Fundoplications has he performed and his answer was " I lost count because of the amount of them I have done." Than he says to me "I did 4 today and I have one getting prepped while Im here with you."
His confidence was uplifting and my co-workers positive results gave me hope.
Can't get any surgery until next year but it seems like something I may do. The barretts is getting worst so I don't really have a choise.

He sounds good. My surgeon said it was one of his favorite surgeries to perform.. he did an excellent job. Why are they waiting so long for the surgery? if your barretts is getting worse?

Thanks everyone. From reading all the posts here it was a no brainer to go out and find the best that there is. Living in NYC there are a large number of Doctors but out of so many there are only a small amount that are the best.
Ekirch I have to wait to next year because I have to switch health insurance companies and the policy is that I can only switch insurance companies during the months of October and November. The insurance would not kick in until January the Following year. So the surgery will have to wait to 2012.
I can live with what I have right now and I feel like I have the weight of the world off my back after meeting him. Plus I know someone who had the surgery performed by the exact doctor.
My friend said that this doctor gave him a new life. Honestly I can;t ask for more than that.
