Hello! I am so thankful to have found this forum....I am not alone! I have never met anyone who has GERD as bad as I do.
I am only 26, female, 110lbs, and I have had GERD for about 4 years, each year seems to get worse.
My worst symptoms are burping and regurgiation and difficulty taking deep breaths. I have my good weeks and my bad weeks. This is a bad week.
I take 40mg of nexium a day. My doc had me on metaclopramide, but that made me want to sleep all day long (and its for short term use). So now I am on motilium. I havent seen anyone post about motitlium in what I have read so far. Is anyone else on this? I would be MISERABLE everyday without it. It's not FDA approved and I have to order it from New Zealand, and although it does NOT make me symptom free, it helps tremendously. I used to feel nauseous all the time, which I do not anymore.
I am very frustrated during my bad weeks though. I am really unsure of surgery. I am going to get a second opinion in a few days from another GI, my GI did not recomend surgery.
I have started eating smaller portions throughout the day more often, and shoping mostly organic and preservative free foods. Overeating is a HUGE trigger for me....i have to eat very small portions. If I eat past my full mark , I am doomed!
Very frustrated with my symptoms today, they are at a peak, and I have to go to the restroom every 2 hours or so to regurgitate what foam and bile I can to get relief.
Thoughts????
