PH IMPEDANCE TEST RESULT

I'm sorry nobody is interested...maybe nobody had this test done...I don't Know..I'm very sad...

"pathological" vs. "functional" probably refers to the specific question of how the stomach is controlling acid reflux up into the esophagus. "Pathological" would mean there's a defective organ; "functional" would mean the stomach and esophagus are functioning normally yet you are still experiencing pain. It's interesting that one part of the report says "higher number of refluxes than normal" but then later says this is not indicative of pathological GERD. Your questions really should be taken to the GI who did the exam and gave you the device.

My problem could be caused by anxiety and stress...that's what every doctor said to me....

That's what my GI said as well. So I made lifestyle adjustments and reduced my stress. Guess what? Reflux is still here.

Hi!I'm very disappointed and angry with my GI!
I came back to him to show him my ph impedance test's results.
He was very listless,superficial and rude.
He was yawning all the time in my face!!!He told me my problem is not GERD because the test was negative...at the same time he told me that this kind of test is not always perfect and reliable,then I might have a GERD with a "negative"Ph test!

He has been persisting to have this accursed test for some years!!!!And ..for what?!?It does not have any sense!
He told me to continue with the paroxetine(even though he told me I can't continue these drugs until I will have 90 years old...),to stop smoking,and gave me Ranitidine 300 mg!
I can say after this"followup"my symptoms got incredibly worse!!!
I'm so angry...so unhopeful...so tired!!!
Anyhow,my symptoms are: an empty feeling in my stomach all the time,as a "hole",languor,cramps,inappetence and heaviness after a small meal,a bitter and acid mouth,boiled and white tongue,acidity,sometimes heartburn and pain,hypersalivation,sometimes a dry throat and thirst,sometimes nausea,a bloated belly,burpings and sometimes small refluxes after drinking.
Can it be enough?
What about your symptoms?

My symptoms used to be nausea but that is controlled by motilium and my acid is controlled by nexium...but i am cosntatnly bloated, burping, and reguritating, so uncomfortable....i dont think the Nissen would be right for me because burping and vomitting are my only relief...and it makes it so you cant?? so confused!

Yes Usagihime you are true...but every GI can't do much more...the same stupid meds...unluckly my "functional"problem is not Known enough by doctors...Doctors don't have an aswer,so they can only say that you are anxious...Even though it's 2011,medical science is limited,as well as meds...it's very sad I Know,maybe it would be better to have a GERD and have a surgery...I can't have surgeries...only live with this BIG problem!
