Swollen Throat - feel like lump

Hi

I've suffered from a sore throat for about three months.  Recently my lower throat feels really swollen like it has a lump in it (for approx 3 weeks now).  My doctor suggested GERD as the cause and put me on 30g Zotact per day.  I've been on the tablets two weeks and have had no relief.  I also have a burning feeling below my adams apple.  Has anyone suffered these symptoms and if so, how long before they start to subside.

nono  I posted a message yesterday I am only drinking spring water or boiled (something about the chloride in the water reacting with acid in the stomach) and porridge but the lump has gone and the reflux is not half as bad try it....

Thanks for the advice. I'm trying very hard to stick to the porridge diet, but hunger ususally gets the better of me. My throat feels like its got huge ulcers and since I strated the Zoton tablets my acid has got worse. I'm going to my 'not so helpful' doctor on Mon to get more useless advice.

I am so sorry you are feeling so awful have you tried the spring/boiled water? Hope the porridge helps if you are hungry just eat another bowl Good luck with the doctor

LPR can cause sore throat problems. I lose my voice at times and have a chronic cough. I'm going for the Esophyx procedure in a few months.
