Hi. I, too, suffer from GERD which is getting worse. Whenever I try to sleep, I'm interrupted with coughing and foamy phlem. Daytime usually presents bloating, gas, a slightly irritated throat, runny nose, gurgling stomach, and ear pressure. I've always had a barky cough. I take Nexium once a day. Which obviously has declined in benefit. But I also take Lipitor which can cause a cough.
I see my doc next month. Dr is not one to suggest surgery but, as I also know, weight loss. Sounds simple, doesn't it? But for the life of me, I still eat the wrong foods and suffer. I guess THAT is something I have to deal with!!
Anyway, I'm sick and tired of this feeling and am going to chat with Dr about surgery as meds, bed inclined, avoiding late night foods & certain foods really isn't helping much.
I have found all your posting very helpful.
And speaking of weight loss, can anyone suggest a particular GERD diet book? There are so many out that I could benefit from the research and experience of others.
Thank you.
