 Hi All

 I went to see Dr Ashton in Manchester last Saturday and it looks like I will be a suitable candidate for the Link procedure.

I have a date for surgery in September for a Nissen so it's now time for me to sit down and weigh up the two procedures.  I'm  looking at the Link as in addition to the reflux I have IBS and Diverticulitus which has enough issues of its own.

I was wondering if anybody has had any further feedback from Slicer following his Link procedure in April?

I know how hard these decision are, and I wish you luck in making yours.

You know those of us who have had the Nissen are more than happy to answer whatever question you may still have about that procedure.

Good luck finding more information about the LINX procedure. You know you have our support as you make this journey.

Its not the linK procedure, its the linX procedure.

Just have in mind that if the LINX doesnt give you good results you can have it taken out and then get a Nissen. If I had the money for it, thats how I would go with it.

Hope you take the best decision, let us know!

Does anyone know how soon can one take it out .. since there would be incisions because of the original implant?

So, lets say I get it and I have problems with it right away ... can I take it out right away .. or do the lap incisions have to heal first?

That's a good question and one that I didnt ask -  in theory I assume because its Keyhole surgery then the healing process would not be that long so Id say a few months - however if it made you critically ill then I dont think there would be any other option than removing the Linx immediately.
