Mine started out at the base of my stomach with a burning sensation when I ate. I then had problems swallowing food or getting it through my esophagus, it felt like food was was getting stuck. That finally went away but I am still having a hard time eating anything. Just the thought of food makes me very nauseated.
My daughter got so worried after three weeks and losing 20 lbs. that she begged me to finish half of a Subway sub. I felt so sick and bloated after that. The only thing I can really eat is jello, soft fruits or very soft foods and in very small quantities.
My Doctor has an appointment setup for scope or whatever but that’s more than 3 weeks away so I guess he doesn’t think its life threatening.
It is fairly brutal and I am very tired all the time. I can get 10 hours of sleep and still feel exhausted.
Hi Maxxsir; Your symptoms sound very similar to mine as far as the losing weight and feeling sick after eating.
The best thing to do is eat soft foods, very small amounts at a time. I too get very exhausted and depressed, wanting to sleep all the time.
Is the test you are having a stomach emptying scan? If it is, it will determine how fast your stomach churns up the food ingested and then how long it takes to digest.
Mine was very, very slow taking approx. 250 minutes just to digest a small amount of oatmeal.
It may take awhile to feel better, but do not overindulge in anything. Jello, pudding, soups, ice cream.
I have also gone to a nutritionist as I know I am not getting the proper amount of vitamins and minerals due to my limited diet.
Take care and hope all goes well.
