Havent been feeling that good. Havent been able to eat that much at all and even drinking water sometimes gives me burn. Got the white bumps on the back of my tongue, have had alot of chest pressure 2. Been burping up a storm, especially at nite im scared to eat or go to sleep. This has ruined my social life. Going to call my doctor tomorrow cause i cant deal with this anymore.

Hi,

I'm at the end of my first week after having a wrap and am doing pretty well. Have you had some kind of similar surgery or are you considering it?

If it helps any, my anxiety got totally out of control from years of GERD and breathing became nearly impossible. I ended up on CPAP for positional sleep apnea and that didn't help either. I am some better now and at least the acid is gone.

If you have had surgery and are young I know it's bound to have put a wrench into your social life but I bet if you can be patient that it might get better.

I hope the best for you. Try to hang in there and good luck at the doctor.
There are lots of experienced people here who can help talk you through whatever it is.

I havent had any surgery yet but i am considering it, cause this pain is becoming unbearable. Im only 28 and didnt see myself living like this. I have never had any surgery, so im a little scared and my anxiety is really bad. But i dont see myself getting any better without the surgery. Meds havent done anything for me. Thanks rita, im trying to hang in there. Really rough patch for me.

My acid started getting bad after the birth of my second child at age 29 many years ago. There was always something on which to blame the "symptoms" I had. Always. It was not good. I saw a doctor back then. Had barium tests and was warned about the acid. Warning me was about all they could do back then.

The problems continued all throughout my life and got worse so gradually till my gall bladder had to be removed. Then PPIs were introduced and didn't help much. Then the beginning of strictures in my esophagus having to be dilated. More meds. This doctor, that doctor for the increasing severity of all my symptoms.

Then sinus/nose repair surgery to try to rid me of the constant sinus drainage and about 3 months to recover from that and the tonsillectomy they did at the same time. It didn't change anything. Then anxiety pills to fix the early morning rapid heart rate and as usual it didn't help.

All that to say this - about 6 months ago my chronic GERD became acute. I had to have help and that's when my GI told me about the surgery I had.

No need to reply. You just sound so much like me at the same age that I hope you can get the right help you need personally and have a healthier life than I did.

I am very positive at this point just one week passed my surgery that my GI and I made the right decision for me.

Im hoping i can get help too and soon. I also have trouble breathing through my nose. I want so badly to live as normal of a life as i can. I feel that surgery is the only option. I have bad anxiety also. I wish you a great recovery.
