Hi All
Went to Dr. Friday and he put me back on PPIs and Carafate, said maybe I was eating too fast and my stomach was irritation in the area. I told him I Felt like I was refluxing again, hence the drugs. Well he ordered an upper G.I. with Barium. I went today and the Dr. doing the test said everything about
the hernia surgery looks good but I'm REFLUXING AGAIN...a little he said. I'm not happy to here that. I hope this is not going to last,I feel like now I'm going backward. He also said I probably should have a Endo.
I'm feeling sorry for myself and hope this was"t done and this Fundo stops working and I reflux and have all the same issues. This past week has been hard and yes I'm whining. Has anyone else had reflux with the wrap and it went away without a revision?
Thanks Julix

Hi Julix,
Sorry to hear about
your problems.
I also thought I was refluxing a couple of times, but I'm not so sure. I'm only seven weeks post op now, it feels like ages ago though. There's been three nights when I've burped so much I'm sure I was tasting the food, and therefore wondering if it was reflux back in my throat. But I never struggled with it, and was able to sleep without vommiting or choking. So I wanted to ask, I know this is a dumb question, but how do you know when you're refluxing. Is it a subtle thing like I thought I was experiencing, or will I really know if I am?
I know what you mean by feeling sorry for yourself. I was too. The positive thinking really helped me.
Good luck bud.

Hi Darryl,
Reflux symptoms are different for everyone,I sometimes feel acid or pressure in the area. I am almost 11 mo post Fundo ;had a Barium swallow done about
2mo post and no reflux which I thought it was. As someone posted the esophagus is a dumb organ so alot of things can mimic reflux. You are pretty early in the healing stage so it could be swelling and the healing process. I had a upper G.I.yesterday and was told I was refluxing a little.I'm hoping it's just a temp thing . It has been a LONG HAUL FOR ME. I also had Breast Cancer April 2010 and 6wks. radiation soo I'm not sure what I WAS thinking going through with the Fundo in Dec. 2010. I think that my poor old body is protesting!!!! lol I think the best thing is allow your body to heal, take it slow.
I TRY TO KEEP POSITIVE AND NOT STRESS.... not always good at that.ha ha ha
Best to You Julix
