Feel like something stuch in my throat- no pain- what is it?Hi,

I had a similar experience with what has now been diagnosed as GERD/LPR. After experiencing days of queasiness and lack of appetite, I felt that food was sticking in my throat. For weeks I lived on protein shakes, smoothies, eggs, and tofu. If I had any heartburn prior to this episode, it was very minor and never woke me up at night. I didn't belch a lot or have any such problem. The Ear, Nose, Throat Dr. told me that you don't always feel the heartburn.
So, yes, apparently feeling like something is stuck in your throat is not uncommon. At this point, I'm not sure how much of it was mental. The ENT Dr. said he just saw "redness" in my throat. What I do know is that after I started taking Prilosec last week, the queasiness has pretty much gone away and I am now able to swallow real food without feeling like it's sticking. My GERD/LPR may be caused by a hiatal hernia. I am eating a very bland diet, but I'll learn to live with it. I'm hoping that I'll only have to take the Prilosec for a short time since my esophagus was "normal", as was my stomach. I'll tell you it didn't feel normal.

BTW: Whatever you do, don't drink peppermint tea! I did that for two weeks after my symptoms started. It may have been the worst possible thing short of eating pepperoni pizza and chasing it with tequila. Now I know better.

I went to see the doc today. My doctor told me that ultimately I need to go for an endoscopy.
Bcause the symptoms should go away after 6 weeks.
Since in my case case,they didn't, I have to go for further tests.
I have that sensation of something is stuck more in the evening than morning.
I don't know how far I need to go.
