If PPIs are going to work for LPR how long should it take?

I have been reading 2-3 months, but other places say 6 months or longer.

I took them 6 months one time, did nothing. My ENT wants me to try again.

I am no doctor, but I was told that if you dont see any results after 6 months it is highly unlikely that you see any results.
Having said that there is a big difference on how the different PPI's work on us, so be sure to try different types.

I am not sure about the us names, but you should at least try:
- Ormeprazole
- Lansoprazole
- Nexium

Lansoprazole works on me, but not 100%. Nexium has no effect. Actually I experienced that some brands of Lansoprazole doesn't work either.

I wouldn't stay on any one ppi for more than three months if you have had no improvement. Time to try something else. But improvement on an effective ppi can be slow, taking six months or more for you to heal.
