Ok, so of course there's no improvement in my situation with the burning in the mouth, throat, and lips. I still have a hard time eating some foods and can feel it get stuck in the wrap.....so I know the wrap is still functioning and there.

I believe this burning might be another problem along with GERD.

I'm starting a multivitamin and b-complex regimine as I've read this improved some symptoms.

Also, I am scheduled to see a Dermatologist this wednesday who said he has heard of cases like mine. So we're getting somewhere.

And maybe I just need more time for the wrap to work. If that's the case, I'm buying time this way too ;)

Hi Max,

Glad to hear the wrap is functioning. Just a thought...have you ever heard of/considered the possiblity of "candida" as a cause for you mouth symptoms? I know very, very little about that other than it can affect the mouth as well as the esophagus and tummy. There is some "candida cleanse" diet out there and I don't know how effective it is or if it's all just hocus pocus but something to google no less.

Hang in there. I bet in 2 months, you will be posting about how good you feel and how lovely it feels to be able to eat anything without reflux or burn.

Please remember that you must be careful when you eat.. you must chew your food to a liquid.. you are still very early in your recovery.... not chewing your food could cause nausea and an unsettled stomach and a feeling of distress at the wrap site.

Good luck with the dermatologist on Wednesday.

i experienced that today for the first time in my recover since the first week.

i'm not sure if it might be the vitamins or not.

I did eat a salmon patty and chewed it fairly well.

I hope something helps this burning in the mouth though

Thanks for the response. I'll be sure to bring it up with the dermatologist. Come to realize, I think the derma is the best fit doctor to address mouth manifestations and lips.

An ENT will look soley at the throat....nothing really else.

A dentist teeth and gums (I'm seeing one in several weeks which is good)

And my surgeon of course the guy who did the wrap. He'll probably tell me to give it more time to see results. I can manage the pain honestly, it's just the redness and chapped lips that's not appealing :( I have to soon use my girlfriend's make up to cover it up :O

Noticed you have a new name. new sphincter, new name...nice. Anyhow, when my father in law had the chielosis, his lips were always chapped and the corners of his mouth were cracked. He did have a blood test to check for vit deficiencies and for that he went to his family doc. Have you done that yet?

Hey there,

I see you changed your name - surgery, new name - a whole new you !  :-) Did you ever factor in anxiety in to the cause of some of your issues ?  I know I have posted several times re this but do not remember you posting back that you are working on controlling your anxiety which is going to make your symptoms seem bigger than life.

Just checking with you ?
