Hi Adam,
I tried Slippery elm in lozenges in June 2011, back when my GERD/LPR got worst.
It did not help me. I would chew and suck on 3-9 tablets per meal or when my throat was bad. I don't think they ever helped me.
I am taking the Aloe Vera, the pink bottle. It also has slippery elm. Again I did not see major improvements, but my symptoms were not bad.
I agree with MMM. There has been a bash against natural remedies as of lately. One person cannot possibly know everything. And one dr. cannot know everything about GERD and LPR. If that was the case we would all turn to that person for answers. There is no one answer for everyone, but we do have similarities with others.
If western medicine were the answer, there would not be eastern medicine or natural alternatives that have helped some people. Surgery is not an option for everyone. I personally got dissapointed at the western medicine, because not one of their perscription or dosage manage to help my symptoms at all. Of course my experience is one, but I think we can all agree that our dr. job most often is "what are your symptoms, here is your perscription in "general" "
