Hi applesteach,At 6 weeks post-op you're likely feeling irritation that mimics reflux. Pepperoni and salami are spicy, and lemonade is acidic. If any of these end up sitting at the wrap site they'll be irritating. Water may be helpful because it washes the irritated area and helps move whatever is sitting there into the stomach.
Anything that bothers you should be avoided at this point in your recovery. It makes all kinds of sense that acidic and spicy foods might bother you. I found that in the early weeks some of the food and drink I'd swallowed would sit at the wrap site. I even remember burp-propelled "reflux" of whatever it was that was sitting there.
Try to adapt your eating and avoid anything that could possibly be irritating to your wrap and esophagus.
Every day is another day closer to full recovery! Just take them one at a time!
Very best wishes,
Denise
