Hey guys lately I've been noticing weird stool colors. I've been having dark green stool lately of regular texture and density. The color is the only thing that worries me. Other times it has been bright orange (maybe because I ate a bunch of pink waffers?) Anyway, it's been a while since I've had regular brown stool. Has anyone has similar problems? Is this due to taking omeprazole or do you think I should be concerned?
Thanks!

Hi,
I will not get into details, but just remember this, "you are what you eat"
Basically, if you are eating green for a while expect that.
It normally goes away, but you can always check with your GI.
Unless of there is blood, I personally would not worry. If you are in doubt or are worried, dr. clarify it for you.

I had yellow stools while on Dexilant. Now I have IBS. Pretty sure it was caused by the PPI. When i stopped taking Dexilant, the yellow stools went away and the IBS symptoms calmed down (but like i said, they are still present). Not sure if this helps, but i thought it was worth posting.

Relax and know you are ok. Kool aid and Fruit Loops and Fruity Pebbles will also turn your poop green as will blue gator ade.

I would not worry too much, usually green stool is caused by foods and medicine. The other reason it can be green is if the stool passes too quickly through the intestines, it does not allow bile to break it down. Before being broken down by bile, stool is green - bile turns it brown.
