reflux flashback - post nissen

I had the nissen and hh repair in august. My surgical journey continued and I had a one sided tonsillectomy and a fair bit of tissue removed from my airway (nose) on Tuesday. Short version is I convinced the surgeon to do two ops at once, and I bled a lot, which means I swallowed a lot. And continued to do so for a few days. I've been having nighttime reflux since the op, despite ppis. Nothinglike before but still unpleasant. Man I do not miss that. I am sure once my system adjusts and the gunk works its way out I'll be ok but it reminded me just how bad gerd can be, and how lucky I was with outcome from my nissen.

Hoping for some sleep, and wanted to share. I have renewed gerd sympathy today!

Thank you. I wasn't at all prepared for any reflux this time, but I guess that blood and whatever in anyone's tummy would act as an irritant. Last night was bit better. It'll pass, it is sore but having recovered from the wrap......

IT's good to be positive about the wrap. I hope that attitude helps anyone facing the op, I totally agree with you- as most often do!!!
