Less Than 48 hrs.

Surgery scheduled at 7:30 Tuesday morning, arrive at 5:30. Decided to start my liquid diet today. Don't want to eat solid foods a day or two before my surgery and end up being constipated the day of my surgery, that's been one of my problems the day after i eat. Plus i'll be better prepared for my diet. If i have any concerns you'll be hearing from me. Thanks again to everyone.

I'll be thinking of you! I found the first night to be the hardest but not everybody did.

If you're in pain, stay on top of the pain medication - take it when you're allowed to. That is, take it before you NEED it. A steady level of pain med in your system is best.

i am 3 weeks post-op. i too started a liquid diet the day before. also took a laxitive the day before. didn't want anything in my intestines. i remember the constipation after my last surgery. it worked!!!!! none this time. after surgery i went on liquids for a few days until i was home. about day 5 i had a cup of senna tea and had a small bm the next day. feel great! this operation had me scared to death, but it really was not too bad. had a great dr. and a wonderful hospital. right now i feel better than i have in 5 years! sleep is sweet once again with no gerd!

yeah!!!! been waiting to hear from you! i had exactly the same as you did. 360 w/6 and hernia. 4 weeks yesterday and i actually enjoyed a blt for dinner last night. nothing got stuck! hoping your recovery is smooth and easy. mine has been so far.
