Hi John,
I've had both the 48 hr Bravo PH and the 24 hr PH Manometry in the past and I'm about to have my second Bravo next week. The number you're seeing, if I remember correctly, is the ph level. Anything below a ph of 4 is considered acidic so yes, your readings are very acidic and I'm sure are showing reflux. The 24 hr PH Manometry is the one where they stick the tube up your nose while the Bravo test is a capsule they attach to the inside lining of your esophagus during an EGD. I will say from experience that I will NEVER do the PH Manometry again as it's barbaric compared to the Bravo test. Bravo is a more advanced (and comfortable!) version of the PH Manometry. I remember that the Bravo test results were very hard to read (from what my Dr told me) because they base your results on a number of factors and not just the ph level. A "normal" person can have up to 50 reflux episodes per day (a reflux episode is where it drops below 4) and still be considered normal :-/. In the end they put me in a "severity group" at the 95 percentile which apparently is pretty severe lol. Hopefully you'll have your results back soon though!
