Post Nissen Tongue Dry/Burn and Throat Burn

Hi Barry,

I'm actually having the endoscopy next week to see what's going on. Only thing that makes sense, at this juncture, is either swelling of the wrap, or the wrap is simply too tight. Either way, something can be done. I guess, if all else fails, I could have the wrap undone. I had the hernia repair and am questioning whether or not I really needed the wrap. I suppose time will tell and I'm confident that when my GI doc performs the endoscopy next week, a lot will be discovered. Have you had an endoscopy to see if your wrap is too tight or had a dilation performed?

By the way, along with the white tongue, did you also have occasional burn in the tongue and throat?

Thanks for the reply. I know it's early on for me (starting my 4th week post op) though I have to wonder if this surgery was worth it. I know many people question it at this stage of the game, so to speak, though I'm really struggling with it. The encouraging news is that I've read/researched enough to know that this surgery can be reversed. I think I should have just had the hiatal repair and perhaps not the wrap.
