I am sorry that I have been away from the forum - I was dx with Colon Cancer on the 10th of August, had surgery on the 16th and have been dealing with all of this while trying to learn everything I can about this cancer.

Just trying to share this with all of you makes me cry so forgive me for not being here as much as I would like to be. .  I plan to get back in the swing of things but my whole world feels upside down right now.

Meanwhile I may not have had the Nissen Surgery but I had a Right hemicolectomy and I suspect some of the healing issues are the same.  So pehaps I can be an honorary member of the "club" ?

Not to be a jerk, but 'technically' you had a right hemicolectomy, and not a Nissen. Even given the extenuating circumstances, my vote is that you are continue to be excluded from the club. If the club let everybody in it wouldn't be a 'club' then would it? :) Of course, I am joking.

Kitt, we are all behind you. Ahem, supporting you. I am not on the forum much these days but have been checking in just to see if there was news about how you were doing. You have given so much to so many people here on the forum that, like Denise said, you now have a whole cheering squad!

I have been following your journal. I hope that you are able to stay strong. I think it is a wonderful idea to keep educating yourself. Don't worry about the forum, do what you n eed to do for yourself!

Thanks all - your words warm my heart !  I have my battle gear on so no little ole tumor is going to take me down.  I have way to much to do in the future.

So happy to see you on here, even if it just for a bit... as everyone else has said. I am sending healing thoughts and prayers for you.. Please kick back and take it easy and regain your strength and in doing that you will regain your health..

I love your comment that "no lil ole tumor" would take you down!! Way to go KITT!!!

This can only get you down if you allow it, so DON"T ALLOW IT!!!!
Here's hoping that you bounce back quickly, we all miss hearing from you...

I've had both surgeries, so you can be in my club. Neither recovery is fun, but they are quite different. I hope you feel better soon.

Good Morning to All

I had a bit of a problem starting on Friday and spent most of Sunday in ER.  My Potassium fell causing me to have fainting spell on Friday evening and I fell striking my head = concussion.  Also my fluid volume was low so I had the full nine yards in the ER and the Dr. was strongly suggesting I stay over night at hospital but I came home. CT done and I actually still have a brain smhair

I spent yesterday on the couch and today I am up and around without an " angel" (my hubby) tracking my every move.  He is a great caregiver.  Kudos to him.

Really am glad to hear all turned out well. I did about the same thing a couple months ago and just missed smashing my head on a steel post in the basement. Some fluids and potassium and I was good to go.

You have been in my prayers since I heard and you will stay there my friend.

Thank you everyone and please know I am appreciative of all your support and caring. 

I never did mention that on the original CT Scan of the Abdomen on 8/10 a small hiatal hernia was noted.  Oh my, if that was the only thing they would have found.  smhair   But I am proud to have a small hernia so I still fit into this forum although my GERD has been good.
