Nissen 3 weeks ago with symptoms

Just had a nissen and after day three have had burning white tongue and gerd symptoms are so much worse than before. Having a very hard time sleeping and wondering if anyone else has had these symptoms and what happens. I am three weeks out and don't know what to do.

Welcome to Healing Well and the "wrapped club".
You should start to see some improvements very soon. They probably will be small ones, but improvements none the less. This recovery can be a drawn out one and we have to have a lot of patience with it. Make sure to be eating things that are easy on your stomach and eat very small meals. Also chew everything very well, to a liquid helps.

I am sure some more will be along and I hope Denise posts her recovery journal. It's a great help.

I felt like that for about 6 months after my surgery - at 3 weeks you are very very early in yur recovery and there will be many times you will feel like you have reflux but it's not. Try to eat soft food and eat very very slow - and small amounts throughout the day. Things improve but for some people very slowly. I kept having problems and my surgeon kept saying it's all normal and not to worry about it and with time, it all went away. Hang in there and you will be OK.
