Lap Nissen scars?

Hello everyone!

I'm now 14 days post-op and recovering just fine, so i'm now paying attention to the small details, (such as the scars!)
I have 5 scars in total. 2 small ones like half an inch long, 2 larger ones about an inch long and one inside the navel.
The thing is, of the large scars is all lumpy underneath. It feels as if the surgeon had left something inside, like a bean that feels hard to the touch.
It doesn't feel like an infection, the area is not red or warm to the touch. I'm guessing it's just a fat buildup or a skin fold.

Anyone had any experience like this? Will it disappear with time? Do i have to do something or just let it be?

It looks like i have a pebble under my skin, almost an inch long. It looks weird :S

I have heard that it's good to massage new scars, that it makes them softer. Is this true?

The dissolvable stitches take time to dissolve, often longer than just a couple of weeks. They feel like hard lumps, and sometimes they pop up through the incision. If they do that your doc or his nurse can cut them off or possibly pull them out gently. I've pulled out one of mine after I watched another being pulled and cut (it started to hurt during pulling so they stopped) - but I have experience in this sort of thing and understand keeping the area sterile!

My scars are invisible except for the largest, which is just a hairline in a small skin crease after 3 years.

I had a laporoscopy surgery with a open incision back in August and I suspect what you are feeling is pretty normal for 15 days post-op.  I had staples in my midline incision so I have some lumps too.  The thing I used to gauge how well I was doing was how soon I was up on my feet and getting around with minimal pain. 

I had my gallbladder remove 32 years ago and a friend told me to talk to my Dr. ( who was trained in doing micro-surgery)  about doing a cosmetic closure which he did do but the incision is so big that I could have skipped that request.  The laps are so much better than all those big incisions that used to be necessary.

My scars are visible but only to me because there is not going to be anybody peering at my old body.
