Hi all,

I have been having a stuffy nose for quite a few weeks now, i'm trying to figure out if this is related to my burning tongue and lips, and acid reflux. My recent Endoscopy showed the vocal chords to be clear, although my throat and tonsils are red.

If it was LPR getting into my sinuses would I not have red vocal chords and a cough also?

I'd really appreciate any help, it's really getting me down now.

I have had reflux issues this past 9 months but just prior underwent a sinus operation. I suspect the sinus issue actually may have started with LPR but I just wasn't aware of it. I never had sore throats etc but started with ear ringing a few years ago , stuff nose etc.. It may be that the reflux hadn't got to the point of irritating my esophagus but the acid in the air was circulating into my sinus. The mucus production is a natural defence to irritants in the sinus.

No proof but it sure makes me wonder. My sinus and ability to breathe is always directly related to my LPR/reflux now a days. If it gets bad I get congestion, when it's good I am free and clear.

Thanks for the reply. Can I ask what symptoms you do actually get? Do you ever feel any acid in your thoat, mouth or sinuses?

And may I ask how you were actually diagnosed with LPR?

I get acid in my sinuses. Don't really have solid proof, but I can feel reflux episodes come up and then my nose will get congested really bad. Anyway's I've been tested for allergies and had a CT scan of my sinuses, which both came back negative....The doctor I went to had no Idea what was going on.
