chest pressure,pain and hard to breath with major gerd?

i get some real bad chest pressure, pains and difficulty breathing with gerd sometimes.

ive had my heart checked out several times and tests all negative.

today it was the worst! started as gerd, then wheezing, then chest pressure and some pain, i was lighthead and rapid pulse for ahwile.

I also regurgitate at times and have some digestive issues.

does gerd really cause all this at its worst?

i told my dr about this and he said it sounds like bad gerd and also anxiety because i was so worried about it.

ive had an endoscopy done and ct of the abdomin and pelvis. all normal.

bad gerd?? :-)

Yep, Very Bad GERD.

I'd see if I was a candidate for the surgery to fix it.

Have you ruled out hernia? I thought I had bad GERD and so does the Dr but I have all the symptoms of a hernia. I can't get them to do a barium xray yet so am trying to figure out how to survive this misery. I get chest pain and pressure feeling like a soft ball is coming up into my chest. Also feels like my esophagus is being pinched off and irritates my nerve giving me rapid heartbeat. I hope you get some relief soon!

im not sure if ive ruled out hernia, i had an endoscopy done in 2011.

it was essentially normal except for erosive duondinitis and acut gastrits. it was very minamal irratation and i was put on prilosec.

it helped with the gerd but not all my other symptoms.

like you. time 2 reclaim, i too feel that pressure and pain in my chest, i also get a rapid heart rate!

im going back to my gi for the 4th time.

Yes. Do you also have trouble sleeping? i to had the same problem except it was a severe case. heart palps. tight chest. Diet is key.

im not really a good sleeper.

I have had some occasions were the gerd would keep me up because it burned so bad.

also ive had the tight chest and palpitations like you, also some bad wheezing do to gerd symptoms.

in severe cases.

im on prilosec now, just started another trial, and ranitidine if needed for immediate relief.
