I have Dx of acid reflux based on symptoms and a barium x-ray. My symptom was vomiting episodes. I was put on Prolosec and still had vomitng episodes sometimes 5 days a week. Finally, I had endoscopy and doctor said she could find nothing wrong. I was also on drug that doctor said could coat lining of esophagus.

What are some possible Dxs? I have been having episodes for almost one year now.

take a h.pylori test ASAP, as it's known to cause excessive vomiting. also, try to take nausea medications to reduce to urge to vomit.

I am on a drug -sucralfate- which is supposed to help with nausea. It seems to have worked so far. My vomiting is episodic. Sometimes I would go for weeks without vomiting.

Hi there. I've struggled a lot with nausea, though not actual vomiting except when pregnant. It seems to be part of GERD as I experience it. Taking my PPI at night reduced the morning nausea quite a lot. Acupuncture has also helped.

I tried Carafate and found it made my nausea worse!!

Have you tried keeping a food and symptom diary in case of food allergy or intolerance? Have you been tested for coeliac disease?

One doctor did mention Crohn's or Celiac disease. My bloodwork came back normal. I don't know if that eliminates it or not.

I haven't tried keeping a food diary. It doesn't seem to be associated with certain foods.

My GI PA says to take PPI in morning before eating. One thing he did say is that it is unlikely to be cancer since it has gone on for so long and I have not become gravely ill.

A h. pylori speciman was probably obtained during your endoscopy. Ask your GI if they tested you. You mentioned a barium swallow. What were the results?

If your vomiting is cyclic andd your tests negative, I would most likely Google gastroparesis.

Also, it never hurts to get a second opinion. Good luck.
