Hi Siyonara,Welcome to the Healing Well Wrapped Club! I had the surgery four years ago, and believe me, you'll be able to sweep, mop, and lift things to your heart's content, once you've healed. Right now the limitation is due to the fact that you've had a hernia repair which takes time to strengthen. Your hernia and wrap will take time to completely heal, but I believe the most extreme lifting restrictions are taken off at around the 6-8 week mark.
Please contact your surgeon's office for specific advice regarding activity restrictions. I know one thing they'll say...if it hurts, don't do it. Listen to your body and follow it's lead. You're just aout 3 weeks into your healing. It takes 6 months for most of the healing and a year for the rest. Try to surrender to your recovery and follow its lead. You can't rush things...try to go with the flow. Don't be a hero now...be sure to ask for help when you need it.
Glad you've joined us!
Best wishes,
Denise
