josie and stucowley, some helpful hints for after surgery. Follow the surgeons instructions to a T. Eat only 1/2 cup at a time after surgery. Even while still on liquids. If you eat or drink a lot at one time you will have shoulder pain. And it is painful. Should you have any of this pain, go for a long walk, it truly helps. When you can have thicker food, try oatmeal, blend different things that will fill you up. But once again on 1/2 cup at a time. No coffee for the 1st couple of weeks. No carbinated drinks for a least a month. Steak will be out for a few months. When you can eat again chew chew chew. This is extremely important. I had mine done in 2008 and have been doing great since then. Keep a positive attitude while healing and it helps you heal quicker. Drink and eat very slowly for awhile. Good times are coming.
Best of luck
