Thank you! Yes, I have asked my GI Dr as well as a nutritionist. The GI doctor understands and agrees that even a little bit of C would a trigger with the severity of my GERD, but doesn't know of an multivitamins without C. The nutritionist (as well as some other Drs I have mentioned this to) are surprised I can't tolerate any C, and keep pushing me to drink Boost or Ensure (even though I can't tolerate any dairy).
Does anyone here take a multivitamin or supplements of any kind? Is anyone able to tolerate certain ones over others? I currently only take vitamin D and some Bs, but could really use a multi. I thought that if there was such a thing as a low acid multivitamin, the people here would know! Thanks so much!
I take the Alive Multivitamin gummy for women, one in morning, one in evening. I also take B12 and calcium w/D gummies (chewables are just my preference).
You mentioned your Dr. and Nutritionist are pushing you to try Boost or Ensure but you can't tolerate dairy. Have you tried Carnation Breakfast mix? You could mix it with a non-dairy milk like almond milk (or something you do tolerate). Even blend fruit or peanut butter into it (whatever agrees with you). It's actually preferred over Ensure at one of the local hospitals here. Carnation is good for people with lactose intolerance, and who are on a diet that is gluten-free, low-residue, cholesterol restricted and/or kosher.
