Will I feel the 2 week post op swelling if on steroids?

My surgery is scheduled in about a week. I have been on steroids since November last year. Of course, before surgery, my dose of steroids will be increased. I will stay on the steroids at least 3 weeks post surgery. My question: Will I feel the swelling/pain that is described at week 2? Steroids decrease swelling, so I'm hoping it won't be as bad. Denise, I know you were on steroids. I would like to hear your experience. I will be on prednisone 40mg. Anyone out there who was on steroids post op?

Thank you, Bill. Yes, Denise and I are very similar with our history. I'm doing this all by myself without much support......except here. This forum has helped me so much. I read as much as I can so I can be prepared and learn. Hopefully, it will all turn out well. Ihad no idea how bad gerd made my lungs.
