Oh hi, I am new LPR patient as well, hmmm.. I can honestly say with this disease, it's long battle, you have to be patient and know that there are many options to approach such illness, as far as success stories; I wish I could contribute on this, but I can not but all I can say is have hope and it will get better. You have come to right place, since I joined healingwell, I have learned so MUCH INFORMATION then any doctor has to offer, all I can advice you on is read up as much as you can about
LPR through these forums, and take some of the information such as the reasons that cause this (malfunction valve, anxiety, nerves, SIBO, etc.). Really just take all these reasons and see what's is your underlying cause and once you establish that, then you can figure out the right treatment such as (high akaline diet, koufman diet, fast track diet, low acid low fat diet, alkaline water, gaviscon advance, carafrate, (ppi might be your enemy in my case it was it made my symptoms from bad to worse, so be careful on how long you are on these pills but I can not advice you not to take it for some people it works for some people it doesn't), take all the right tests in order to root out your cause, so far I had endoscopy, barrium, and waiting for my 24prob, and then I will talk to my doctor on what we can do in order to manage or cure this and if things get worse, surgery is also there such as NISSEN, TIFO, LINX (I am really interested in this surgery in the future once I get better insurance), also avoid all the bad foods until you feel better or avoid them over all, and elevate that BED!!!! it helps with us LPR'ers. I got wedge pillow helps me support my head and chest, don't use extra pillows make things worse either raise the head posts of your bed by adding 2-3 bricks, buy elevating bed posts, add wood blocks or books until it's 6-8 inches up, or buy foam bed wedge pillow like I did giving me 6-8 inches of support. But these are some of the extensive things I have learned from this forum and online, so really do your research and I wish you good health and transition, always hear for you if you wana talk, I know it's sucky disease! but we can do it!
P.S. maybe you can also ask people for some of their opinions on what they do to help with their lifestyles such as diet, suppliments, herbs, honey, aloe vera, some of the things I have come across, until you find what works for you.
WISH you the best!
