I have LPR. I have a feeling, but can not be certain, that bile reflux and or pepsin is the culprit. I do not believe I have acid reflux, but I can not be certain.
I do not have any heartburn or stomach issues. Just throat issues.
I am beginning to take a herbal formula called Trikatu. It is a digestive stimulant consisting of equal parts ginger root, black pepper, and long pepper, used to aid digestion.
It says on the label ".....not recommended for people with acid reflux or hyperacidity."
Trikatu is supposed in increase acid production.
Will increasing acid production also increase pepsin? I found this information about
the creating of pepsin.

Pepsinogen is an inactive enzyme secreted by the gastric glands. It is converted into pepsin in the stomach through the presence of gastric acid known as hydrochloric acid. The main function of pepsin is to digest protein.
