Hi Gooserstein,At three months, you're still in the midst of healing, so don't think this is forever. Healing takes time, then it takes more time for your body to adjust to the changes that have been made. I found improvements even after the year mark.
You've had a major revision to your upper GI tract, and it will take time for your body to heal and adjust. It will. Just try to go with the flow. Relax and try to surrender to your recovery. If you can just accept what is, and allow your body to heal at its own pace you'll do just fine. When you struggle against what IS, it makes the whole recovery much worse. Give your body the benefit of the doubt...trust that it will heal in its own time. I know it's hard to trust and wait, but it will happen!
I'm 4+ years post op, and there are still times when I eat something that irritates my wrap. Within a very short time it's back to normal again. The wrap is an unnatural barrier to the stomach, and it may give you a twinge from time to time. Still, it is SO much better than the alternative. A few little discomforts are well worth the improvements!
I expect that with time you'll be comfortable lying flat again. Give your body time to heal and adjust. Once it's ready, I'm sure it will happen.
Hang in there!
Denise
