Post-operative shivering?

I've been home from the hospital barely 4 days, and I find that as I change clothes, I still have brief episodes of shivering. I'm not running a fever. I am taking Tramadol, but that medication is supposed to prevent shivering. Where is this coming from? Can one still shiver days after the surgery? I shivered horribly while in recovery. Any ideas?

This is the first time I have heard of Tramadol for shivers. I have been on it several times and was used for pain and inflammation.

Occurrences of Tramadol leading to Serotonin Syndrome are relatively rare but they do happen. If you have real concern re the shivers and any of the above sx I would strongly suggest you contact you Dr. as you may do better on another medication.
