tracks-
Believe me that was a thought I had many times, but decided against it as things did turn out well in the end.
As for barretts, what I have been told is that without the constant acid it shouldn't advance any further. they of course still want to keep an eye on it to be on the safe side, just not every year as I had to before. The EGDs I had to check it showed it hadn't spread any and at times wasn't able to be detected. this was thought to be because the esophagus heals over that area once the acid is controlled.
When they didn't find it they would go a little deeper the next time. Usually that showed it was still there, but still the same as before. Remember there are 2 more stages before it turns to cancer and it doing so is very very slim odds. Especially with the reflux controlled. The natural thing for the body to do is heal of the damage as it does with any trauma, kind of like scar tissue happens, but the biopsies show the healed area is normal cells. That's plenty good for me.
Take care,
Bill
