How Long can Gaviscon Advance be safely used for LPR?

My sister suffers from severe LPR. I do believe she will be referred to a surgeon for a Nissen, but getting approval and all the required testing done could be several months or more. So I suggested she try the Gaviscon Advance, from amazon, as others discussed on this site. She is currently taking omerprazole and has her bed lifted, following some dietary guidlines, but she is really suffering the wheezing, clearing throat, sinus problems, etc.

She ordered it today. Her question is, for how long can this be safely taken? I searched the web, including UK web for a package insert. All I could come up with is if it is not working after 7 days call your doctor. Well, what if it is working, how long is safe?

Gaviscon can be taken indefinitely. But read the label - the sodium content should be factored into the dietary intake.

I have been taking gaviscon double action tablets for years, they are the only thing that helps for my acidy mouth and throat symptoms. I chew them up in my mouth and swish around with water. Tomorrow will get some gavisvon advance and try some in liquid form. Will let you know how I get on.
