Hi everyone

I was wondering if anyone else experiences this... Since having my scope the other day my gastritis has REALLY flared up, I've been in bed since Friday afternoon when I got home from the proceedure.. Anyway, I have ALOT of gas now when I start to eat something and I noticed now I am getting pain on and off when I feel it in my upped stomach it's also radiating into my back just under my ribs... I've never had this before.. Does anyone else get this? If so, can you tell me why it happens?

Hi!  Am sorry to hear you are having discomfort.  The excess abdominal gas from the procedure is generally long gone by now.

What did the results from your procedure show?

I just wanted to mention here that with any reflux, laying in bed is not always the best thing, unless you've propped yourself up?  I've had 2 endoscopies (EGD) and I've had a bit of an upset, but generally as Searchin' has mentioned it only lasted usually the first day - I even went shopping afterwards.  If this continues, I would give your Dr. a call.  Do you have a f/u with the results of this test?  Keep us posted!

Thanks for writting back...You asked if I had an F/U with the results.. I dont know what that is? I know laying in bed is no good but I have been very ill and extremely weak so I have no choice. It seems the scope made my gastritis flare up really bad and it hasnt been fun. I also have chronic illness ontop of this that is also flaring so it's been rough.

Thanks for replying.. My results were severe gastritis, GERD and a hiatal hernia. He said the small intestin, stomach and esophagus were really inflammed..

Robyn, (f/u) was follow up, sorry.  That's really rough if you've got other issues to deal with as well - I've walked a while in those shoes, too.  I truly hope that they'll be able to help you!!
