I agree with Denise. If you are sitting up a lot it will make your tail bone sore. When I was in the hospital from my esophagus tear my tail bone was so sore I had to use pillows to form a hole to sit on.
As for the hiccups, yep they happen. I find I got them mostly when I was eating and it was triggered when my stomach was full. As soon as I got them I stopped eating. But they are a sign things are healing. I believed they are from the diaphragm nerves healing, but that's just my theory.
Hang in there. The bowel movements do get better, but it takes time. Make sure to drink plenty of water. As for gastritis, I have no doubt you have that. With the acid staying where it belongs your stomach has to repair itself to handle the acid again. Unfortunately it seems everyone heals at different rates and I can remember having the stomach pains for 2 to 3 months with my 1st nissen.
