Hi GC1pink,
Actually, if you got a DeMeester score, what you had was a wired probe (I assume) for a 24hr PH monitor. Most people get the test done OFF PPIs, so your scores will be skewed because of your use of meds.
A DeMeester score of 9.45 is within the "normal" range...the top end of that range is 14. Still, I don't know how the PPIs affect the results exactly. That said, my DeMeester score was always pretty close to "normal", and yet my reflux was creating havoc with my lungs.
I had the surgery, and my lungs are now 100% better. A DeMeester score is one moment in time, and doesn't necessarily capture the true picture of what's going on.
Maybe somebody else will be by who can provide some interpretation of your results in comparison to others who take the test while off PPIs.
Good luck!
Denise
