I Can't control this GERD and bile reflux, I need opinions....

It just seems to be getting worse.
Prilosec is not doing anything for me. I'm dependent on carafate. I didn't take for a month and now my stomach hurts around the clock, in the morning is worse, when the bile seems to hit me harder.

I think my primary is bile reflux, and then gastritis. I am going ot the doc next week, but I need some ideas...what exames can I ask for besides another endoscopy....and I really want to try other PPI...

I'm also considering surgery if there is any for bile reflux...I don't know...I'm worried about barret's and other things...I don't know what to do, I don't even know what to eat.

The only test I can think of for bile reflux would be the dual probe PH study.

PPIs won't help if it's bile reflux. The questran may be of more help if taken daily.

My surgeon recommended the gastric by pass roux en y for bile reflux. I don't know if I spelled it right.

Can be for acid reflux and bile reflux

I take Welchol or Cholestipol for the bile reflux. Both work the same for me, but the Cholestipol costs less with my insurance, so I've settled on that. I take it in pill form (it also comes as a powder to mix in water). I take 1 gram 5-10 minutes before I eat. It has been life-changing for me. I used to get diarrhea every time I ate, and the medication stopped that. You do need to plan ahead and NOT take other medications at the same time. (like 1-2 hours before or after the Cholestipol). I also had GERD that I tried all different PPIs for. Dexilant was the most effective for me. But after about a year my symptoms started getting worse again. So 3 weeks ago I had the hiatal repair with a full Nissen. Still recovering, hope it fixes the gerd!

I have cholestramyne packs, I don't know I think that is another generic like colestipol? I'm supposed to mix with water in powder form...but I take rarely due to constipation...I wonder if I should be taking daily? For one, that definetelly stops diahrrea if I eat something high in fat...
