Fundoplication choices?

Hiya,you can have 90,180,200,240,270 basically any degree.Its down to the surgeons experience and what he finds works best for you.
I had a 200 degree wrap which was posterior but they can be anterior aswell.I was told 1 in ten would still have some reflux after my type of surgery.
Ive read somethings on the internet about 90 degree wraps but I don't think they where very successful im afraid. Barry

Hi Rita,im eating everthing I want with 200 degree wrap,still have to chew things like bread carefully and most importantly don't rush when eating. I don't get that squeezing feeling I used to get with a full wrap.
Have you found a surgeon who will redo your wrap? Barry

Hi,all you can do is try and see,just avoid foods that are difficult to swallow.I think youl be ok if you carefully chew everything to a mush first,its takes a while to get used too but I just do that naturally now.
What we need now is someone to come up with a motility cure! Barry

Hi,im going for my review on Wednesday,ill ask whats happening with the Endostim trials.I seen Mr Attwood in the ward when I was in for my surgery but I forgot to ask.I think there might be a problem with the funding,i read that somewhere. Anyway ill let you know. Barry

GC1 Pink, ive been saying that all along. They can do so many things with the heart and even many cancers, but digestive issues seem to impossible to fix. And nobody understands how much suffering this causes unless it happens to them.

Hiraj323, what did you have done,was it a 360 fundoplication and are using same surgeon to have it redone? Barry

i had op done at derby royal dr Amid op was done 21 agust 2013 i was in a week waiting to see diatician before discharge they said they will call me back 6 weeks i waited 6 months no letter from hospital then i got in touch with mr Amids secatary and she was very sorry they had forgoten about me i saw dr last week am having endoscopy next week then week after measurements again then see what they decide to do i all so suffer from COPD which makes problem worse two week s ago i could do most things now breathing bad due to acid on lungs and i live on my own and i have try and carry on the best one can

BAZA They have started to redo all the tests they done before my surgry am having Endoscopy done on 12th feb this wednesday a consultant is doing it so he could have a good look around and see why am still having Reflux then on the 19th am haveing the 24 hr mesurement test last time i had it done each time i took a sip of water it went in my lungs so they had to postpond it till next day then they did not spray my throat to numb it they just sprayed in the nose only' and no problem the worse thing is am notallowed to take any meds untill all test are done feel awful cant wait untill 19th then i can take meds again at least some relief how you doing baza

Barry, that's brilliant news! Have you had a tipple to celebrate, or does that have to wait until you are fully recovered?

baza there are lot of questions need to ask you but am not too good at the computer only recently buy one so its trial and error is there any way we can contact each other one of the things i wanted to ask i dont know whether i got choice of surgon and did you have yours done in scotland if so why not derby and how

Baza i have been told i had a 360degree wrap they done endoscopy on me wednesday and every thing is intact i dont unerstand i could burp from day one and i was eating every thing with in 3 weeks except i take my time. now days are not bad but nights are terrible too much acid ah well am having the 24hr mesurement test next week then he will advise me . i will be glad if there is any way i could get this new precedure endostim done they say its 100% i hear they are doing trials in scotland the way things go it will be some time before we can take advantage

I HAVE NEVER HAD HEART BURN EVEN BEFORE THE OP THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS THE ACID IN MY THROAT IS SORE AND GUMS INFLAMED THEETH HURT AND AM DOWN TO 41 KG . SINCE THEY PUT ME ON FORTISIP I HAVE STOPPED LOSEING WEIGHT ANY WAY MY FRIEND I WILL KNOW MORE about IT AFTER I HAVE THE 24HR MEASUREMENT TEST NEXT WEDNESDAY FOOD WISE I DONT HAVE ANY PROBLEM I HAVE NOTICED I HAVE TWICE HAD CHICKEN CURRY SWEET NOT SPICY LIKE THE TRADITIONAL CURRY FROM TAKE AWAY I FELT NORMAL NO REFLUX FOR 12 HRS CANT UNDERSTAND.
