5 weeks post NF

So I am 5 weeks post Hiatal hernia repair and NF. I am still so happy that I had this surgery. After reading all of the negative blogs in the past and reading all the posts here I keep waiting for something to go wrong. I had not had any pain other than shoulder pain. The dr said he had to do extensive repair on my diaphragm and the pain would probably come and go for a couple of months. I had no pain in my stomach after surgery. I actually slept on my stomach the first night. I am now eating anything that I want with no problem. I am actually eating as much as I ate before the surgery with no problems. The best part is no reflex. I was taking 40mg protonix 2 times a day plus eating a bottle of tums every couple days. I have not had a single tums and no protonix since the surgery. I had surgery on Friday left the hospital on Saturday and went back to work full time on Monday. I started exercising last week with no problems. I have not lost any weight though. I just celebrated my 51st birthday and now ready to start living acid free. I am very excited.
For those that are 6months+ did anyone have issue rise later in the healing process?
I see that some have had check ups with their dr soon after their surgery. My dr does do appt until 8 weeks after surgery unless you have a problem. He said if you are not having problems there is no need to see him. My appt actually just got rescheduled for mid April.
I don't want to do something that can jeopardize the wrap and worried that I might because things are going so easy.

I just passed my one-year anniversary and your surgery sounds just like mine, no pain, no blood and no long-term after effects--so far. You read so many negative stories that it always seems like you are waiting for the other shoe to drop. I had a three week checkup and haven't been back since then. And, mine was done at an Air Force facility by a general surgeon.

FlaCracker I had my surgery at OSU in Columbus ohio. I did a lot of research and found that this surgeon is top not in GI cancer treatment surgery. A wonderful surgeon with a wonderful bedside manner.
