silent acid reflux

It all started with a cold, & a cough the did not stop. lost my voice, I would cough so hard I choke & gag. I feel no heartburn, or discomfort. but this nagging tickle in my throat is killing me. It has been since the beginning of march. I can't sleep but 2-3 hours at night. my doc put me on a water pill too. so not I cough and pee a flood lol, I stopped taking it. cough drops & cough syrup do not stop it. my eyes want to close when I drive during the day for lack of sleep. I watch what I eat, mostly fish & chicken. I don't eat vegetables. they stated me on 40mg of nex. I am going to try splitting, because it is not working. my next apt with my two docs, my reg and pulm. next week. I cant take this any more!!!!!. It bothers my co workers, they think I am sick and I am not. any other suggestions would be helpful, before I put my self out of my misery.

if you have lpr you may need to see any ent, standard docs, and some gi and pulmonary docs may not be familiar with it. A couple decent lpr books are "Dropping Acid" and "Killing me softly". Both contain recipes/foods that may help. I still don't have the condition under control but it helps to know what may help.

Hi Georgi

The doctor tested the vagus nerve by poking my throat area with little needles. It was not as bad as it sounds. My doctor is an ENT who specializes in LPR, voice disorders and  chronic cough . She is also the author of 2 of the 3 books mentioned below. I do not know where you are from, but if you are anywhere near NYC she is so worth going to see to properly diagnose you.

Like I said previously it took me over 30 years to get diagnosed.
